GENERATION ONE

Francis Maybury (Mawbury) was born between 1650-1660 (probably in England).  Francis married Elizabeth Gilliam in Henrico County, Virginia in 1685.  Elizabeth Gilliam was born about 1654 in Virginia and was the daughter of Captain John Gilliam and Margery Henshaw.  Elizabeth was married to 1.? West and had two children  2.William Bevin and had three children.  The children of Francis Maybury and Elizabeth Gilliam were: Ann, Mary, Francis, George, Charles, Judith and Hinchia

**The Maybury's lived for several years on Swift Creek in Henrico County, Virginia just a few miles south of Richmond.  Later they lived in Charles City County, before moving to Surry County about 1701.  Land, court and other records show that when the Maybury's moved to Surry County, they settled along Jones Hole Swamp.  There they cleared much of the land in order to plant tobacco.   Francis Maybury wrote his will on March 22, 1711/12 in Surry County. **Source: "The Mabry Family" book


GENERATION TWO

Hinchia Maybury was born 1697/98 in Henrico or Charles City County Virginia to Francis and Elizabeth Maybury and died in 1761 in Brunswick County, Virginia  His occupation was that of a farmer.  Hinchia was married to 1. Francis Parham  2. Anne Jackson (widow of Ambrose Jackson Sr)  3.Ann Courtney nee Clack.  Frances Parham was born in 1697 and died in 1749.  She was the daughter of Ephraim Parham and Frances Green.  The children of Hinchia Maybury and Francis Parham were: Elizabeth, Hinchia, Joshua, Ephraim, Nathaniel, Daniel and Joel.  There was a child, Ann (called Jeanne) who was the child of Hinchia Maybury and Ann Clack Courtney

**Beginning in May, 1719 and continuing for several years, Hinchia bought land in Surry County and Brunswick County, Virginia.  Beginning in 1746 Hinchia gave tracts of land to most or all of his sons.** Source: "The Mabry Family" book


GENERATION THREE

Ephraim Mabry was born in Brunswick County, Virginia and died in 1789 in Wilkes County, Georgia and was the son of Hinchia and Francis Maybury.  He was married to Mary Poole who was the daughter of William Poole and Elizabeth Watson.  The children of Ephraim Mabry and Mary Poole were:  Joel, Susannah, Daniel, Adam Poole, Sicily, Margaret Hinchia, Mary Poole, Elizabeth and Ephraim.

**Ephraim moved to Camden District (now Fairfield County) South Caroling by 1770.  Ephraim died in Wilkes County, Georgia in 1789 while on a trip with his son Joel, who had received "bounty land" in Georgia for his service as a soldier in the Revolutionary War.**Source: "The Mabry Family" book


GENERATION FOUR

Joel Mabry was born between 1750-1760 in Lunenburg County, Virginia to Ephraim and Mary Mabry and died after 1830 in Franklin County, Georgia.  Joel married Mary (Polly) Wafer in South Carolina.  She was the daughter of Francis Wafer and Mary McGoffin.  The children of Joel Mabry and Mary Polly Wafer were: Elizabeth, Walter, Patrick, William, James Thomas and Mark Seth. 

**Joel Mabry served from South Carolina in the Revolutionary War.  It is thought that he received "bounty land" for this service in Georgia where he moved in 1789.  Joel lived in Columbia County, Georgia for several years before finally settling about 1800 in Franklin County, Georgia and died there sometime after 1830.  No will has been found.**Source: "The Mabry Family" book


GENERATION FIVE

Walter Mabry was born in 1782 in Fairfield County, South Carolina to Joel and Mary Mabry and died May 13th, 1861 in Newton County, Mississippi.  Walter married Elizabeth Westbrook in Talbot County, Georgia.  His occupation was that of a farmer.  The children of Walther Mabry and Elizabeth Westbrook were:  Ann Philida, Daniel, Hudson, Joel, Unknown son, Unknown son, Unknown daughter, Nancy Elizabeth, Unknown daughter, Eli, Unknown daughter, Eliza and Unknown daughter

**Walter Mabry served in the War of 1812 in the 15th Regiment, Johnson's Mississippi Militia.  He died on May 13th 1861 and is buried in Newton County, Mississippi.**Source: "The Mabry Family" book


GENERATION SIX

Eli Mabry was born on February 4th, 1824 in Pickens County, Alabama to Walter and Elizabeth Mabry and died on December 30th, 1916 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi.  Eli was married to 1. Hailey ? and their children were: Margaret, Sarah, Rachael, Eliza, Lucinda and Josephine.   2. Nancy Vaughn.  Nancy Vaughn was the daughter of John Vaughn and Harriet Unknown.  Eli Mabry's occupation was that of a farmer.  The children of Eli Mabry and Nancy Vaughn were:  John W., William D, Martha E, Nancy L, Hattie Lee, Annetty (Nettie), Harriet, Albert E and Mary A (Mollie)

**Eli married his second wife Nancy M Vaughn in Lauderdale County, Mississippi on May 2nd, 1858.  Eli was 44 years old and Nancy was 17 at the time of their marriage.  Eli and his brothers, Daniel and Joel settled west of Meridian, Mississippi in the hills along the Tallahatta Creek, north of present day Interstate 20.  According to the 1858 Land Roll of Lauderdale County, Eli and Joel each had forty acres of land.  Eli's forty acres valued at two hundred dollars, were in the southwest quarter of section 17, township 6, range 14.  Eli's brother Daniel, had one hundred and twenty acres of land in the southeast and northeast quarter of the same section as Eli.  Eli was on the west side of the road and Daniel was on the east side.  Eli's brother, Joel, had forty acres to the northwest of Eli and Daniel in section 7.  He lived just a short distance down the road, but his land was located on the Bogue Flower Creek.  This same creek was used as a camp by Civil War Yankee General William T Sherman on his march toward Meridian, Mississippi in February of 1864.  A battle was waged against General Sherman by a group of Confederate Soldiers near the town of Suqualena.  Eli served in Plesent P. Terry's Company in the Civil War along with Daniel Mabry, Ephraim Mabry, Joel Mabry, Sr., Joel Mabry, Jr., George Mabry and Newton Vaughn.  Plesent P. Terry was a school teacher in neighboring Newton County, who organized a "local defense troop".  Daniel Mabry died of pneumonia on his way home from the war.  Eli Mabry passed away on December 30th, 1916.  His wife Nancy, passed away almost a year later on January 24th, 1917.  They are buried in Suqualena Cemetery, Suqualena, Mississippi.**Source: P.  GENERATION SEVEN

William D Mabry was born in May of 1864 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi to Eli and Nancy Mabry and died in 1950.  William was married to Jennie Laura Bird (possibly Seminole Indian, this is being looked into) on November 8th, 1885 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi.  Jennie Laura Bird was the daughter of James C Bird and Narcissus Graham.  William Mabry's occupation is listed as that of a farmer.  William and Jennie Mabry are both buried at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks, Louisiana.  The children of William D Mabry and Jennie Laura Bird were:  Claudia Lavinia, Norris Elmo, Exie L, and Effie B.

**The William Mabry family moved to the hills of Caldwell Parish, west of Columbia between 1900 and 1910 where they made their final home.  Some say Mr. Will was a bootleg whiskey maker.  One tale about this whiskey venture states that Mr. Will's oldest daughter, Claudia came home from Chicago where she had been working in a Hershey Candy factory and brought two of her gentlemen friends with her.  These two men sampled some of the homebrew that was not quite properly distilled and developed a condition known as "Jake Leg" from which they had to be nursed back to health before they could return home.**Source: P. GENERATION EIGHT

Norris Elmo Mabry was born on April 1st, 1888 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi to William D and Jennie L Mabry and died on July 6th, 1977.  Norris was married to 1.Dennis Dottie Kelly who died in 1920 and 2. Martha Louise Spann Wood (see Spann Family page) on May 24th, 1922.  The children of Norris and Dottie were, R.E., Laura Lucille and William Woodrow.  The children of Norris and Martha were: Norris E, Martie Lee, Claudia Lavina, Clyde Harold, Albert O'Dell, David Richard and Martha Louise.

GENERATION NINE   

Norris E Mabry Jr., was born on August 14th, 1923 to Norris and Martha Mabry and March 10th, 2004 in Channahon, Illinois.  Norris married Dorothy Mae Maras, (see Maras Family page) daughter of Stojan Maras and Thirza Crawford (see Crawford Family page) on October 20th, 1945 in Huntington Park, California.  Dorothy was born March 12th, 1925 and died November 27th, 1995.  The children of Norris E Mabry and Dorothy Mae Maras are: Sandra Mae, Jerry William and Jean Elaine.

GENERATION TEN

Sandra Mae Mabry was born in Natchez, Mississippi.  She is married to Terry Lee Richardson (see Richardson Family page). The children of Sandra Mae Mabry and Terry Lee Richardson are: Steven Lee, Robert John and Jake Edward.


GENERATION ELEVEN

Steven Lee Richardson was born in Morris, Illinois.  He was married to Sandra Lee Smith in 1999 (see Smith Family page) and divorced her in July, 2009.  The child of Steven Lee Richardson and Sandra Lee Smith is Grace Elizabeth Richardson.
